Police have arrested a businessman Charles Douglas for feeding pigeons, who owns a roofing company that is close to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California.
Investigators state 59-year-old Charles Douglas has been feeding pigeons at his Burbank Company for the past year and the growing bird population is making a safety risk at the near airport.
After months of legal wrangle, Police arrested Douglas. He was engaged for inquiry of disobeying court orders and making a public nuisance.
Airport police Cmdr. Allen Schmitt says a plane strikes a bird at the airport one time every two months on average. But the rate of bird strikes has increased in recent times, with five incidents last month.
